Butterfly Dreaming
Exploring the Beliefs of the indigenous people in Winton, Australia.
About this Australia trip
During my second year of university I was lucky enough to be one of 5 students sent to Australia to take part in the Australian film festival in Winton.

It was a long journey but definitely worth it. Whilst we were there we learnt more about Winton's history and the indigenous people of Winton. We were able to to talk to people who had lived in this small town in the outback all their lives.

While there, we created this small experimental piece (along with some other student animators from Griffith University). Talking to a local women about how they believe that our lives mirror that of a caterpillar. We are cocooned in our bodies and when we die our spirit transforms into a butterfly and we are free.

We were there for two weeks, we did one week of pre-production, 4 days of production and 3 days of post production. It was a great experience to work to a short deadline, we were pushed to our limits but we made a great short film.

Over all this was an amazing experience.
